DIY Ribbon Controller in 15 minutes!

This is awesome. I'm doing this on the weekend for sure, just need to get the SVHS tape.

Your own ribbon controller in 15mins. No special tools or parts needed. Really.

Click here to find out how!

cool!

Thanks to Babylon-Warp for posting this on 'the big evil' KVR.

Edit: Note from Derek (the creator of this project and author of the linked article) in this posts comments - be SURE you get SVHS tape, not VHS tape. SVHS is the same that is used in Alesis ADAT machines.

Awesome. You ought to submit this to Make.

Hey, funny you should mention that. I got a sub to Make for Christmas, and my first issue arrived 2 days ago.

Great plan, I'll submit this.

cheers

Hi! You have to use SVHS tape, not VHS tape. VHS tape is not resistive enough... I know, as that's my project you've linked (thanks). I submitted it to make last year.

thanks Derek! Much appreciated. I did notice about the SVHS tape, just forgot to write that when I made my blog post - d'oh! I'll update it.

I looked around your site for contact info or some comments place so I could let you know I blogged this, but couldn't find anything. Hope you don't mind!

cheers and thanks for a cool project :)
